HOG FACTOR USA 2021


  • LIGHTING SHOW PROGRAMMING COMPETITION

    Do you love the Hog? Are you a young lighting professional or just now entering this exciting field? Enter Hog Factor and sharpen your programming skills while competing for fun prizes.

    Launched in 2014, High End Systems’ Hog Factor is a collegiate lighting programming competition, traditionally held in conjunction with major trade shows and events across the globe. Individual and team contestants are given the opportunity to program and operate lighting demonstrations using the Hog 4 control platform, along with the chance to win prizes. The contest is open to individual and student teams enrolled in Collegiate Spring 2021 lighting programs.     Hog Factor USA 2021 will feature student teams competing to win school and individual prizes. Phase One is an open competition with each team providing a performance lighting piece, programmed on a Hog you own or on Hog 4 PC, which can be downloaded free of charge with a special demo version of Capture visualization, which will be made available to all teams. Once performance piece submission closes on August 15, 2021, the top finalist teams will be selected by September 1, 2021.

    Competition Rules
    ° To enter the Hog Factor contest you must be a team of up to three students, currently enrolled in a US or Canadian university or college program.
    ° Teams must have a sponsoring professor
    ° No more than three students to a team are allowed
    ° Only the top team from each school will be considered for the finals, and schools can only win top prizes once.
    ° Once registration is completed, an email with a link to download show files, visualizer files and instructions will be sent
    ° Only one show presentation submission per team is allowed

  • Hog Factor 2021 Prizes

    For the 2021 Hog Factor USA Competition, Capture has graciously offered to include their Capture Quartet, Duet and Solo products as additional prizes to the winning teams.

    * First prize will be a Road Hog 4 for the school the students attend, along with a Capture Quartet. Each student receives an ETC Student Nomad software package and dongle (including Hog PC).
    * Second prize will be a Hedgehog 4x console for the school the students attend, along with a Capture Duet. Each student receives an ETC Student Nomad software package and dongle (including Hog PC).
    * Third prize will be a Hoglet console for the school the students attend, along with a Capture Solo. Each student receives an ETC Student Nomad software package and dongle (including Hog PC).


  • Use of any other audio track will result in disqualification. Each submission must be programmed on the provided Capture show file and using a Hog 4 console of any flavor. Registration and entries to arrive at High End Systems no later than 11:59 PM August 1, 2021. By entering this competition, you fully acknowledge that your team has programmed the light show. You agree that High End Systems/ETC may post your entry link on our website in addition to making it available on any other platform. You further agree that High End Systems may use your video for publishing, advertising and other purposes royalty-free, including, but not restricted to, this competition. Finally, High End Systems makes clear that no purchase is necessary to enter this competition, and that all tax liable from the prizes awarded will be the responsibility of the winning parties.
