Learn the basics of networking protocols, gear and components, as well as basic concepts in setting up networking for lighting systems:
The use of networking equipment for theater and concerts is steadily growing. It’s no longer enough to know about DMX and electrical systems. More often, you need to be comfortable working with networking equipment, have knowledge of network technology, have an understanding of IP-addressing, and much more. This course will go over the basic skills needed to work with networking for lighting systems, and teach you how to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a network environment.
This class is geared toward programmers, board operators, lighting professionals, technicians, lighting designers, lighting department staff, system engineers, and sales personnel for installation companies. It will include abstract and practical work. In order to participate in the practical aspects of the course, attendees will be provided with necessary tools and software. We recommend bringing your own laptop running Windows XP, 7 or 8. Prior training is not required. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. After successful completion of this course, you will be given a certificate.
