Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, one of the world's leading bridal fashion events, relied on Hog lighting control to support a packed programme of runway shows and special events during its latest edition.
Held annually in Barcelona, the event brings together leading bridal designers and brands from around the world. Each year features a new scenic design, creating fresh technical requirements for the production team. This year's programme also included
Bridal Night, a special showcase featuring an internationally recognised designer, all within the same runway environment.
Lighting Designer Juanjo Saunier and Head of Lighting and Technical Manager Juli González selected ETC's Tour Hog to manage the demands of a production that required flexibility across multiple show formats.
"Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is currently one of the most high-impact events worldwide in bridal fashion," says Saunier. "Each edition features a different scenic design to distinguish it from the previous year. This year also included the Bridal Night
event, where an international designer is invited to present a show. All of this is integrated into the same runway. In summary, the lighting setup needs to be flexible enough to cover all the requirements of every show, both during the day and at
night."
The venue presented its own challenges, particularly when it came to accommodating multiple show formats within a single runway environment. With one lighting system required to support every production, flexibility was essential.
Having worked with Hog for many years, both Saunier and González were confident the platform could provide the flexibility and control required for the event.
"Both Juli González and I have been Hog fans for many years," says Saunier. "It's a platform we feel very comfortable working with, and it was great to work with the latest generation of Hog consoles on this show."
To support programming and adjustments throughout the venue, the team deployed a networked Hog system with control positions in different areas of the space.
"From the start, Juli was clear that we would need two consoles running on a network in different points of the space to be able to make adjustments," says Saunier. "This was key and a great decision. It gave us incredible flexibility throughout the production."
The networked setup enabled the team to manage a demanding production across the venue.
"For me, the key word is comfort," concludes Saunier. "Along with the robustness and stability of the system. Even with around 180 fixtures across roughly 24 universes, the platform performed exactly as we needed it to."
With support from ETC dealer VCI, the production team delivered a flexible and reliable lighting system capable of meeting the evolving requirements of one of the bridal industry's most prominent events.
