ETC CEO Fred Foster's keynote at the CUE 2013 Professional Development Conference

ETC has officially extended the deadline on the early-bird discount for the biennial CUE professional development conference to Friday, March 13th. The end-user conference will take place June 26th through 28th, in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. This year's CUE features keynote addresses and master classes from lighting designers Al Crawford of Arc3design and the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and Josh Allen from Theatre Consultants Collaborative.

The CUE conference offers attendees two focused-learning tracks to choose from, including the Technical Theater Continuing Education track, which is designed to give ETC users of all experience levels a deeper understanding of modern lighting technology. ETC Vice President of Marketing David Lincecum says: "We want to help our customers go deeper into their lighting education. Also, we want people to see how lighting technology is changing so quickly and how it differs from what they're learning in their textbooks."

Andrea Bilkey, head of design and associate professor at Texas Tech University, and a CUE 2013 attendee, has registered for the Technical Theatre Continuing Education track at this year's CUE: "I signed up for the purpose of adding more knowledge and experience to my teaching toolkit." Participants of this track will walk away with knowledge of the most up-to-date lighting practices, and also guides, handouts and lesson plans for individual study or to integrate into an already existing educational program.
