If you are having trouble connecting an Eos Family client PC running Windows Vista or 7 to the master console (and you can ping the console), make sure the Service Location Protocol is 'Started' and 'Automatic'. To do this:

    1. Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon on the desktop and choose 'Manage...'
    2. In the Computer Management window, select 'Services'.
    3. Make sure there is a service named 'Service Location Protocol' in the list and its status is 'Started' and the start up type is set to 'Automatic'.  If it isn't started, right-click on the status and choose 'Properties'.
    4. Under 'Startup type', change to 'Automatic' (without delayed start).
    5. Under 'Service status', press the 'Start' button.

    Or

    1. Hold the Windows key and press 'r'. This will bring up a run box.
    2. Type 'services.msc' in the box and press {OK}.

Restart the Eos Family software, including the welcome screen/shell.
