Navigation and Orientation in Augment3d

Keyboard

In Augment3d [Tab 38], use the standard arrow keys to move the camera around the Augment3d space. In Augment3d Edit Mode, both the standard arrow keys and WASD keys may be used.

  • W / UP - moves the camera up.
  • SHIFT + W / UP - moves the camera forwards in the direction it is current facing.
  • A / LEFT - moves the camera to the left.
  • S / DOWN - moves the camera down.
  • SHIFT + S / DOWN - moves the camera backwards in the direction it is currently facing.
  • D / RIGHT - moves the camera to the right.

Tap any key to increment or decrement the camera position, or hold the key down to move smoothly.

Mouse

  • RIGHT MOUSE - drag to rotate the camera to look around the model.
  • CENTER MOUSE - drag to pan the camera in the current perspective.
  • ALT + RIGHT MOUSE - drag for orbital control.
  • CTRL + RIGHT MOUSE - drag to pan the camera in the current perspective.

Note: Use keyboard and mouse controls simultaneously for optimal navigation control.

Eos Snapshots

Camera view and other Augment3d settings can be saved directly to Snapshots for quick recall.

Reference Point Images

The Focus Wand feature in the aRFR and iRFR mobile remote apps uses unique reference point images to synchronize with Augment3d and orient the mobile device within the 3D model.

  1. Print at least four AR Target images to place in your space. Images can be exported from v3.0.0 and later Eos Family software via the CIA by navigating to File > Export > Augment3d Reference Point Images.
  2. Place the images at points in your space that are easily measured and encompass as much of the floor as possible. Note which image is placed where, and their orientations. Alternatively, you can place the images on FPE Points that already exist in your Augment3d model.
  3. In Augment3d, either create new Reference Points at the locations you placed the images, or at the locations of existing FPE Points. Assign each point its associated image, ensuring that the image selected and its orientation match their real-world counterparts.
  4. Scan the images using Focus Wand to synchronize your mobile device with Augment3d.
