The Backstage
Professional Development Conference – in partnership with the ABTT – will bring together
professionals offering knowledge, advice and guidance based on their careers
working in the industry. The event is designed for professionals starting
their careers working backstage in the theatre and entertainment
industry. The one-day event includes a series of practical sessions,
talks and workshops covering topics as diverse as working with hire companies, self-promotion
for freelancers, maintaining dance floors, risk assessing, tax and finance and
fault finding on moving lights.
As part of the programme, Mark White from ETC will deliver a
presentation – Current
trends in LED lighting and control – utilising a selection of fixtures and
desks to show how far LEDs have come already.
The conference will take place at the Barbican Centre in
the City of London on Saturday 18th March 2017. It will run from 9.30am to 5.30pm
across four rooms, each hosting four talks during the day. Lunch will be
provided in the Breakout
Zone as an opportunity for attendees to network further with each
other, meet sponsors and
talk with speakers.
