Name a Channel
LightDesigner provides multiple methods to change a channel name. You may use the Property Editor, the Sheets tab, or the Browser.
Property Editor
- With a channel selected in the Plan workspace, locate the "Name" field in the Property Editor. Click in the entry field and then type the new name. Press (Enter) to complete the name change.
Keyboard Shortcut
LightDesigner provides a keyboard shortcut to change the same property value for many objects listed in succession in the Browser.
- Select the object either from the Plan workspace or from the Browser.
- Select the property to be changed from the Property Editor and rename.
- Press (Enter) to accept the change.
- Press (Page Down) select the next object in succession of the Browser list. The focus remains on the same property of the new selected object.
- Press (Enter) to edit the property.
- Press (Enter) to commit the property change.
Sheets Tab in Design view
- From the listed channels in the sheets tab, double click the channel name, type the new name and press (Enter).
Browser
- Right-click on the channel name in the Browser and select "Rename" from the context menu. Type the new name and press (Enter).
