Bluetooth®

Bluetooth has become a global wireless standard and uses radio waves to send information wirelessly. Sending information at distances up to 100 meters, or 328 feet, Bluetooth technology operates in an unlicensed industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band at 2.4 to 2.485 GHz, using a spread spectrum, frequency hopping, full-duplex signal at a nominal rate of 1600 hops/sec.

Take the following guidelines into account when choosing a mounting location:

  • ETC recommends a wireless operating distance of no more than 30 feet between the EchoAccess Interface and the mobile device running the app.
  • Obstacles reduce the wireless transmission distance. When possible, avoid transmitting through walls, ceilings, etc.
