Sensor IQ Breaker Lockout/Tagout

Issue

I need to lockout/Tagout a breaker in my Sensor IQ.

Explanation

To follow proper Electrical Safety it my be required to lockout/tagout a circuit being fed from a Sensor IQ panel.

Solution

ETC recommends the MasterLock 493B or the Brady 120/277v Clamp-On Breaker Lockout (65396). Not all standard lockout devices will fit the Sensor IQ breakers, but ETC has tested this one and it does function properly.

These breaker lockout devices are available from many electrical suppliers. (e.g. Graybar, Grainger, etc.)

NOTE: These locks cannot be placed side by side to lock out two neighboring breakers.  If this is needed, the full panel should be powered down and locked out. Additionally, installing a breaker lockout device does not provide clearance for the door to close, or for the panel cover to be removed.

If circuits in the panel must be locked out while the door is closed, consider a whole-panel lockout solution.

If you need to remove the panel cover, you must lock out the breaker upstream of the panel.
