    Dan Boggess
    Field Service Manager

    Dan has been with ETC since the summer of 2000. He started as a Technical Support Specialist and was promoted to Field Service Manager in 2005. Dan supervises ETC's Field Service Engineers, exclusive of the LA and NY offices. He also manages the Technical Training group, Field Service Coordinators and ETC's large pool of service providers in North America, South America and Australia. Dan holds a BFA in theatrical design and production from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dan is also currently enrolled at the Fisher School of Business at The Ohio State University, where he will receive his MBA in the spring of 2012. He lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and three children.

    Simon Clarke
    Customer Service and Projects Manager, ETC Ltd, London, UK

    Simon has theatre in the blood, his parents met as members of an amateur dramatics group many moons ago. Many an evening was spent asleep in the corner of a rehearsal room or get-in somewhere. After taking part in shows for a few years Simon decided being on stage wasn’t for him and that he much preferred working backstage. This hobby soon turned into a part time job while still at school and then later a full time job in the theatre he first started ‘helping out’ with the lighting in at the age of 12. Simon went on to work as Lighting Technician in several other South London Regional venues before excepting the opportunity to join ETC’s London office as a Field Service Engineer in late 2006. This position gave him the chance to work on a wide variety of interesting and often challenging projects all over the UK, Europe and the Middle East including The Grand Mosque – Abu Dhabi, The Curve – Leicester, The Royal Festival Hall – London, The Burj Kalifa – Dubai, Disneyland Paris and the Disney Dream Cruise Liner amongst others. After a brief spell as a Project Engineer with ETC Dealer LSI Projects, Simon has only recently taken up his new role as Customer Service and Projects Manager in London. When not ‘globetrotting the world’ with ETC, Simon spends some of his ‘spare time’ as Lighting Designer to a number of local groups and has just finished his 16th production with Carshalton Pantomime Company, a local company with a 47 year history of productions. The rest of that so-called spare time is either spent under his car, up a big hill on a Mountain Bike or more importantly spending as much time as possible with is two little girls Georgia (4) and Erin (1) and his partner Jodie.

    VP Professional Services

    Sarah has been with ETC since August of 1990. She graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, with a degree in Public Relations and Marketing. She has filled various roles at ETC, starting in Customer Service and Tradeshow Management, then moving into Technical Service and eventually becoming the VP of Professional Services. She is married to a fellow ETC employee, Kobi. They have 2 daughters, Holland and Lily. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

    Laura has been working at ETC in the Project Management Department for 15 years. Laura came to ETC after leaving her position as a Repo/Accounts person for GMAC. Laura graduated from Madison Business College with an Associate’s Degree. She spends her free time with her 8 year old son Draven.

    Tom Jellings
    Manager of Project Management

    Before starting at ETC Tom worked for a company that manufactured energy dispersive spectroscopy systems for electronic microscopes as Midwestern Service manager, EDS technical support manager and later as the international export administration manager. He also worked as the sales and software support manager for a company that sold high Speed data recorders. During which time he wrote a software programs for Ford Motor Company to detect fan belt slippage and engine design software for the motorcycle company Harley Davidson. He at one time co-owned a computer manufacturing company that sold equipment to several local companies including the Nielson ratings company. He has been with ETC since 1993. Working in phone support, project management and now as the Manager of Project Management. He has a son Adam attending Univ. of Wisconsin Stout majoring in Software Engineering/Game Design. His wife Lorett has worked for the State of Wisconsin for many years. Most recently as the investigation and compliance Section Chief for the Department of agriculture, trade and consumer protection. When not working at ETC he enjoys playing golf, riding bicycle and doing woodworking projects. One of his more rewarding woodworking projects was when he designed and manufactured the kitchen cabinets in his home from a tree that had fallen in his parent’s backyard during a storm.

    Technical Service Manager, ETC GmbH, Holzkirchen, Germany

    Hans started working at ETC Germany in 2003 as Manufacturing Engineer responsible for the manufacturing and quality related issues for the ETC Transtechnik German products. In 2009, Hans became the manager of Technical Service and Customer Service at ETC GmbH. In 2011, Hans also took over management of the Projects department at ETC Germany. Hans graduated from the Technical University in Munich with a master (Diplom-Ingenieur Univ.) in Mechanical Engineering (major: Manufacturing Technology). Before working at ETC Hans worked at two other companies. He worked 6 years at NCR GmbH as Project Engineer and Process Engineer in the production of computers and computer boards. At his second working place FORCE COMPUTERS (developer and manufacturer of embedded computer boards) he had the chance to take over several responsibilities. Working first as Process Engineer in the SMD board production for 4 years he became the manager of this “Board Operations”. After 2 years he was asked to manage the “Systems Operations” and the NPI-Engineering Group, which he did for 5 years before changing than to ETC.

    Hans lives with his wife Monika and their two children Lina (18) and Thomas (17) in a village in the area between Munich and Holzkirchen.

    Vicki Lessard
    Manager of Applications Engineering & Drafting

    Vicki has a BA in Dramatic Arts from UW-Parkside with a focus on stage management. She has worked in many roles such as stage manager, props master, lighting crew and scenic painter at various theatres around Wisconsin. After working 7 years for an ETC dealer, she was hired at ETC in 1999 as a project manager. In 2002, she transferred to the London office to work as the project manager there and continues to work closely with that office on many of their projects. She participated in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe several years ago and hopes to get back to the festival again this year.

    Mike Meskill
    European Service Manager

    Mike graduated from The North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Technical Design and Production and started at ETC in 1995 as an intern in the Technical Service Department. Before going to college, Mike spent four years in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician. While in school he worked as Master Electrician at The Monomoy Theater on Cape Cod and as an Electrics Intern on MGM Grand's EFX. Mike has recently returned to the US after spending 5 years at ETC’s office in Holzkirchen Germany. In addition to his work at ETC, Mike has designed shows for the Wisconsin Dance Ensemble, First United Methodist Church, local dance schools, ALD for Madison Opera and has designed several shows for BeMe Theatre in Munich as well as the first ever German production of the Vagina Monologues.

    Technical Manager, ETC Asia, Hong Kong

    David graduated from The Open University of Hong Kong with a BSc in Communication Technology. He also studied Electronic Engineering at The City Polytechnic of Hong Kong. Before working at ETC, he has worked at Strand Lighting Asia for ten years, starting from an engineer, senior engineer, technical manager and then sales manager. When he joined ETC in 1995, he did sales quote, marketing promotion/ trade show, conducted product, operational and technical trainings and seminar, submitted project drawing, attended project meeting, did testing & commissioning, repair and technical support. His current position is Technical Manager.

    David has an Electrical Engineering Degree from North Carolina State University. He has worked for Stageworks Lighting, Ltd, Carolina Power and Light, and numerous community and professional theatres. He started taking calls at the age of 14 at his dad’s auto parts store and still loves to talk to customers today. If it’s old or custom, David helps to make it run. He has been with ETC since 1994.

    Durrell Ramer
    Quotations & Customer Services Manager

    Durrell originally hails from the burgeoning metropolis of New Paris, IN. Before landing at ETC in 1995 he worked as a stagehand, sound designer and technical director for such companies as Madison Repertory Theatre, Shenanarts and Victory Gardens Theatre. He has a MFA in Technical Production from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He and his wife Stefanie have two boys.

    Repair Supervisor

    Lee is a graduate of Lakeland College, where he received his BA in Business Administration, and in Computer Science. He also has an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering from Herzing College, and previously worked at Nicolet Instruments for ten years as a field service engineer. He has been with ETC for over 20 years. He and his wife Sue enjoy walking their shelties Lassie and Lucy, and he is occasionally known to feast on tiny cookies.

    Quotations Supervisor

    Trisha moved to ETC in 1999 after years of theme parks, Las Vegas and touring with Broadway shows and children’s shows. She went to school to become an elementary school teacher, but soon found out that theatre was much more fun – although some say it was good training for her current job! Her husband Steve is also an ETC employee (Technical Communication and Training Manager). In her free time, she enjoys singing, being a hockey and soccer mom to Ryan (11), and snuggling with her two Great Danes, Zane and Rocky.

    Gijs van Doesburg
    Technical Department Manager, Penko BV, Ede, Netherlands

    Gijs has been working at Penko since 1988. Prior to Penko, he graduated from Tech school, after studying control and installation technology. He also spent 14 months in the military. In 1997, Gijs became a project manager and TD manager for Penko. In 2005, he had a major accident which left him with a broken back, neck and a damaged right arm. He is married to Desiree and they have two children Joey (22) and Nadya (20). In his spare time, he enjoyed playing musical instruments (guitar, keyboard and Euphonium). The accident has changed his ability to play, but he still enjoys listening to heavy metal music and going to concerts. He also raises German Shepard dogs.

    Steve Stage Managed his first show aged 13 for the opening of his new school theatre and it’s been downhill since then. After studying Drama at college he joined his local theatre on a one year training scheme and left nine years later having been made Chief (and only) technician in the first six months. On leaving he spent a year working as a full time freelancer, mostly for Vari-Lite, before he moved into the West End to become Chief LX on Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mousetrap’, the world’s longest running show. He re-lit the show when the set was replaced for the first time in 25 years and met the Queen when she came to see the show on the 50th Anniversary. He left ‘The Mousetrap’ to join ETC as a Field Service Tech in 2004 and after dealing with the launch of Revolution and Sensor+ in Europe he decided that Service management might be quieter, after nearly seven years he’s still not sure. He lives with his wife and four year old daughter in a very nice town out in the countryside which requires a two hour trip to work every day and means he’s very grateful for newspapers, i-phones and Kindles.
