  • KnowledgeBase: Help Your Technician Help you

When equipment goes bad out in the field, it's often extremely helpful if the owner/end user can keep track of the circumstances of the failure. This is especially true when the problem is intermittent and might not occur when the technician is present. Service Technicians are exceptionally skillful...

  • KnowledgeBase: Video Monitors for Expression (1) and MicroVision Consoles

When looking for a monitor for the Expression (1) or MicroVision family of consoles you will be looking for a CGA monitor, which is an older video format that is not compatible with the current video formats (VGA_ or (SVGA). These consoles cannot be upgraded to the new video format, so you will either...

  • KnowledgeBase: Rescuing and Transferring Shows from Double Density (DD) and High Density (HD) Diskettes

Expression (1)- line consoles have a double density (DD) disk drive. Many sites have been using high density (HD) disks with these consoles because either they don't know, or they can't find any dual density disks. Using high density disks in these consoles is very risky, as the disk drive writes...

  • MicroVison FX/Vision Analog Cards

Hello All, I have been tasked with attempting to upgrade the lighting system of a small theater still running their shows off a Vision lighting console. The logical stepping-up console for this theater seems to be a MicroVision FX, to allow them to purchase newer DMX dimmers while still being able to...

  • Re: Anyone remember the original MicroVision™? (Not the FX.)

VGA monitor with Microvision Wow- I had no idea so few were sold! This year a friend wanted to sell me an old MV (1990), but we couldn't find a CGA to VGA blackbox that did a good job. With the adapter we tried (Ambery.com $100), the display looked pretty bad and it was hard to read the channel numbers...

  • Anyone remember the original MicroVision™? (Not the FX.)

I'm trying to determine how many of these were actually used/manufactured/sold. Launched in 1990, it wasn't on the market long before being replaced by the FX. I've created a little "tribute" page here . I'd be interested in hearing stories from other users.
