Joe Kirschling received a B.F.A. in Acting from Drake University, a J.D. from Yale, A Ph.D.-M.D. in Neurosurgery from Johns Hopkins, an M.B.A. from DePaul, and a PhD in Astrophysics from M.I.T.
He received the pulitzer prize for his novel, "Lies I Never Got to Tell" and in 1964 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for quelling a revolt of migrant farmworkers in Rwanda with nothing more than a bullhorn and a carton of cigarettes.
After serving under her majesty's forces in India, Joe Kirschling left the military to pursue a film career in the subcontinent. Two projects were cancelled and one, titled "Delusions of Grandeur" was met with mixed reviews.
Shortly therefater, Mr. Kirschling struggled with sedatives and partially hydrogenated oils until he faded from public view.
He now lives in quiet seclusion with his pet wolverine, Mr. Bojangles, somewhere in the Yukon territory.
