    Midi-device

Would it be possible to make a device that sends Midi instead of DMX? Intended use: Remote control of video-software (ex. Arkaos midi).

I can´t find anything on midi-velocity in the manual. Can a fader send it´s value as velocity on the specified note?

Faders can send Controller messages. (Note On/Off commands can be send by the console buttons.)

Would a Controller message from a fader work with the system you are planning to control?

    Re: Midi-device

Yes I believe so. I haven´t worked with midi before so I don´t know all the terms. The Manual speaks of midi channel, controller number and min/max value so I guess controller is what it wants.

Then it should be possible to connect to the faders of the SFML.

    Re: Midi-device

    Perfect, thanks.

    Could a device send midi?

    Re: Midi-device

A device cannot send MIDI itself. However, you can patch MIDI controlllers to channel levels if you want and control external equipment through normal channels (that can be stored in sequences, memories etc.).

    Re: Midi-device

Are we talking about the 48 int. channels? Then I will have to give this another thought since I need most of these for my dimmers.

    Re: Midi-device

You can use any of the 72 channels, including the one on the device page.
