    Colorblaze 72 patching on Eos

    Hey guys,

I was in the shop the other day when we sub rented an Eos. For some reason when I had the colorblaze in the 12 section mode, when I patched it on the Eos, I couldn't have independent control of each section. I then decided to patch a colorblast [a RGB color profile] 12 times. Then ran into yet another problem. I know on the Ion, in Patch screen on channel view mode, you can say ADDRESS # - # @ CHANNEL # - #. Couldn't manage to do this on the Eos...any ideas?

Thanks so much for such a great product!!! :-)  I haven't ran into many other issues with the two boards!

T-Rex.... sorry about the delay in replying.  We are looking into the Color Blaze profile.  Back soon on that.

On both Eos and Ion, you patch in exactly the same way.

If you are in patch by channel:  n @ y enter patches channel n to output y.

In patch by address:  n @ y enter patches output n to channel y.

In either mode you can use the tiles that say [Address] (in patch by channel) or [Channel] (in patch by address), and then the [at] key accesses the thing to patch to.  So, in patch by channel:  [Address] [n] [at] [y] [Enter], or in patch by address: [Channel] [n] [at] [y] [Enter].

     Hope this helps.

    Thanks Anne,

As to the patching I sort of meant like if you had say, 12 colorblasts that you had on a rig in a line that you wanted to patch sequentially from channel 1-12. Why can't you [on the Eos] say, for instance, 1-36 @ 1-12. To accordingly patch attributes 1-36 into channels 1-12?

Hey TRex.  Just to check... you have 12 colourblasts and you want to patch them sequentially from chan 1 > 12 and each unit is addressed sequentially?

From the patch by channel screen: select the chans ie: [1 thru 12].  Set the {type} to the desired fixutre, and then [1 thru 12 @ 1 enter]

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

Would that address the fixtures sequentially [Unit 1: Add 1, Unit 2: Add 4, Unit 3: Add7, etc]? I don't have a board in front of me.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Yes it would. As you have already assigned the channels a fixture, the desk knows how many addresses to offset by.

And just another thought.... when working with multi-parameter devices, it is HIGHLY recommended to work in patch by channel mode.... you can work in patch by address, but you have to do way more of the math than if you work in channel mode.
