  • Client Dongle

I have managed to set up network setting on the Congo and Laptop using a fixed IP address. I still get no Client option on the startup on the laptop. Drivers are installed and show under sytem when I insert the dongle. Both are running the latest update - setting seem to be the same as far as I can tell...

  • NCE, GCE and Net3 Services onto Congo.

sclausen: I believe if you install NCE or GCE on your console, you will get buttons in the Settings (the system settings available from the startup screen) to launch those programs. Also, Net3 Services may be installed on consoles running v5.0.x software to provide DHCP and time server functions from...

  • Re: Networking

My two cents: If you don't want to worry about IPs in the future and this is an isolated network, I would consider enabling the DHCP (Address Service) located in the Network tab. As long as the adapter on the laptop and the future backup console is set up to use DHCP everything will happen automatically...

  • Re: Networking

Hello, For Congos and CongoJr the recomended IP ranges are 10.101.80.101 to 10.101.80.253 and 10.101.81.101 to 10.101.81.253. So you could make your Congo be 10.101.80.101 and the Jr 10.101.80.102. The NCE and GCE buttons in Congo Settings in v 5.0.1 are for access to NCE (Network Configuration Editor...

  • V5 networking problem.

I'm trying to set up a network with our Congo Jnr and Congo Client. On the console, in system settings under the network tab there is no entry under ip, or subnet mask. Use DHCP is not checked. If I enter an IP and subnet, it's only stays until I exit the system settings. No combination of restarting...

  • Re: Congo Jr & ArKaos

The Arkaos template is quite a strange one - when you import it, it's almost completely empty of range names etc, as Congo populates it when 'connecting' to it over the MSEX protocol. Note that Arkaos doesn't have any Focus parameters at all - you'll see things under Colour and Beam...

  • Re: Congo Client

Hi Gareth, Please check that you have the IPX network protocol installed under Windows on your laptop (normally, only TCP/ IP is installed by default). Do this by: 1. Go to Network Properties in your PC (right click and select properties on the Network symbol in the Control Panel) 2. If the IPX/SPX protocol...

  • Re: Macintosh File Server

All releases of OSX have had a version of SAMBA built into them, so yes. What you may need to do, however, is alter your samba configuration to allow anonymous logins. You can fidn how to do this by googling it. To set an IP address manually, its in Control Panel > Network, i think. I havent had to...

  • Re: connecting 2 Congo jnrs together

To set two Congo jrs together as Server/Backup, you'll need a standard 100MB capable Network Switch and a pair of Cat5 or better straight-through cables. If you already have a lighting network, the two simply plug into this network via Cat5 patch cables. Before plugging in, there are a couple of...
