  • Re: ION and ETCNet2?!

More info would help. How is your ETCnet setup? Are you using net2 nodes? My theater is all ETCnet with net2 nodes and my scrollers work fine. One thing I have noticed is that if I plug the ethernet cable into the board after I have turned the board on, I have to exit the Ion or reboot to get it to talk...

  • Re: iRFR

Internet access is different than having access to the router or switch via TCP/IP. Just because you have to use a browser to set settings on your router doesn't mean that it has to have internet access. You would set up a closed network for your space. It could only consist of the console and the...

  • Using Eos Offline software as a "listen only" client.

Hello once more, Long story short, I am looking to provide an LD with a selected/active channels display so that he can easily view what is going on without having to lean over my shoulder when he says " can I see what Ch20 is at?" or suchlike. To avoid using my own screen space, one solution...

  • What can you do with ETCNet with an Express board? (Help!)

I'm primarily looking to see if there was any way that I could write shows on the lighting console and then be able to retrive them in a .shw file on a computer hooked up to the network. What I am trying to do is make the risky buisness of handling shows on 3-1/2in. A: Floppy disks obsolete. If anybody...

  • Networking with ION

I have 2 studios with one ION each on one dimming network via ethernet (sensor+ with CEM-Module). Also a small set with an ELC DMX-Recorder using a NET3 Gateway accessing these dimmer-network. The ION's has to back up each other, but I can't find a proper way. As Master/Client the lights are going off...

  • Networking two theaters

Got a question for everyone! I have a new studio (connected to the larger performing arts center main stage) which will be online soon. This new studio has an Ion console and the full net3 infrastructure (minus the remote processing unit). We have just started the process of upgrading our main space...

  • Ion Client Connection

Hello All, I recieved my client dongle in the mail today and went to try it out. But come to find out after a call to tech support that there needs to be, (what I think is), pretty substantial changes to the Network settings for my laptop. I was thinking and hoping that the process would be a little...

  • Re: wish list for future versions

Ok I agree the security and resource risks are a good enough reason not to have internet access but there are two network opitons I want. 1. The ability over the network to check and change the dimmers. Currently I had to scrounge up an old pc it would be much more efficiant to have them on one machine...

  • Using and Ion to backup an Eos

Coming up in September, we're going to be doing a show in a new theatre that just received an Eos system and Net3 system to run pretty much the whole building, but the Eos mainly just the main stage, and an architecture system runs the hallways, etc. I'm planning on bringing our Ion in for this...
