Hi, Richard already suggested some good things. Another way to do it with MIDI would be to use a box from MIDI Solutions, the F8. http://www.midisolutions.com/prodf8.htm This is a 8-channel contact closure / footswitch to MIDI interface that is fully programmable. You can program an input to set Controller...

Hi, As Bullen already wrote, you need to have some sort of converter for the timecode. The timecode that your SONY XDCAM player sends is SMPTE timecode ( see wikipedia ) and that is an analog signal, not MIDI timecode. You cannot connect the timecode from your Sony direct to Congo, because Congo cannot...

Hi Pedro, There are a number of ways to use MIDI on Congo. So I'll give a few examples. To get more info about MIDI (and other show control things) a good book to have is John Huntington's book Control Systems for Live Entertainment. It explains MIDI and MIDI Show Control very well. I highly recomend...

If you are going to use Sound Forge, you will need to play around with the MIDI options (found under options>MIDI IN/Out) The link you have looks to be the same hardware i used. I would definitely check out MIDI OX, it sounds interesting. Good luck

Hi, If you have a USB-MIDI interface to your computer a great piece of software to have is Midi-ox. http://www.midiox.com/ It's a nice piece of software that will show what is beeing sent or recieved on the MIDI line. The software is free for personal use. It may take a little testing to understand how...

I recently used MIDI to control a light show I did for class and I used a USB MIDI controller connected to my laptop. Sound forge generated the timecode and I used a similar process as Richard. I didn't use the learn option, I just pulled timestamps from the sound file.

Hi Florian, I'm not sure I'm managing to explain this properly, it's not a cross fade/lock fade thing. A bit more investigation reveals that a MSC "Go Cue x" command is similar to a "x GOTO" on the desk. You can see the issue I'm having without using midi. Record two...

KK Yeung, I'm not sure that what you're trying to do is possible, I don't think the desk sends MIDI Show Control just responds to it. After some investigation of the problem I'm having, I have a slight correction to the problem. Say we have two cues,1 & 2 with fade times of 10s each...

In the MIDI department, we're going to have to wait for a newer release of the Congo software. Although 4.3.0 added better MIDI support, it's not quite at the point where it's 100% customizable. Although, read the manual to the Congo/Jr. and see if there's an exact answer, because a MIDI...

I'm goign through the Congo manual, and reading the section on MIDI interfacing, bu ti cant seem to find what i nmeed to know. We have an Elation DMX Operator Pro for controlling 4 American DJ Mighty Scans, and as much as i would like to connect them to the Congo Jr board when we make that purchase...
