  • Re: Expression DMX In

Thank you for clarifying Sarah. Do I have DMX In correctrly in that it uses one console to cue another? And that the slave console shows up as basicly a preset to the master? I'm still not clear on how that works. But I do understand the two espressions merged portion of the lesson. so many channels...

  • Re: DMX on CAT5....to shield or not to shield?

Unless something major has changed since I moved to Germany 4 years ago….When using CAT5 for DMX the cable must be in metal conduit from point to point. I too have seen installations where it was not and times where there was conduit at the back-box but it dispersed once it reached above the drop...

  • Express DMX IN / OUT

Can I simply use the DMX IN / OUT with two consoles and a single data line to control a large plot with a singular cue list? I have used MIDI to connect a Hog 2 (movers) and Obsession (dimmers) but each had a cues list sometimes with dummy cues. There was also a programmer for each desk. I don't...

  • Re: IP Adresses on Net3 ACN 2 port gateways

That sounds good. I've downloaded the software and read the manual. There are two other nodes on this network that still have their previously assigned IP address. In order to assign the defaulted node an address should I ---- 1. Connect all nodes to the network. 2. Plug my computer into the network...

  • IP Adresses on Net3 ACN 2 port gateways

Through a mistake of curiousity I restored the defaults on a Net# ACN 2 port DMX RDM gateway. Now when I plug the ethernet cable into the gateway it responds but says it is "Waiting for IP address server" What do I do to get the gateway to take up an IP address? Any help would be much appreciated!!!

  • Ion Client and Enttec USB DMX

I'm currently working on a show outside of our theatre and I made the mistake of trusting other people to load the truck and they forgot the road case with our Ion in it. I have the Ion client dongle and an Enttec USB DMX converter. Is there a way for me to use the client and the USB/DMX converter...

  • USB-DMX help?

Hey I was wondering if anyone would recommend some hardware that can be hooked up to a computer via USB and then be hooked up to DMX for LED, gel changers, via control through the computer. Any brands, suggestions??? Thanks

  • Re: DMX Hex Values

No way to see the actual hex level without using an external "DMXter"-type device. You method of "guessing" is as good as any; just beware you may be up off by one or two points hex. Note that on 16-bit parameters: 32,768=50%.
