"Flow Rate" on a Sub

I have had a problem recently with the "flow control" for a G300 snapping to full while on a sub. My entire purpose behind putting it on a handle was so I could vary the output manually, however as soon as I pass 1% on the fader, flow control snaps to full. Am I missing something? I have played with different sub modes with no luck.

What does that device do when you bring it up manually?

If I use the encoder, I have variable control, but it snaps when I use the sub.

Make sure the sub is in proportional mode not I-master.  I was able to make a sub that just controlled the flow rate without the other attribute in it at all which would give you a flow only fader.

The sub was a additive proportional htp fader with 0/man/0 timing.

Hope this helps

This may seem like a silly question, but are you testing this sub with the G300 hooked up or just looking at the ion displays? I ask because I've noticed the same "snap to full" issue in the display area of a flow rate only sub. Where it shows 100% right away. But in reality it's actually doing the variable rate on the dmx output side of things. Just thought I'd check. Hope it works out for you. I use these subs all the time for hazers.
