Hey guys,

So I used the dongle for the first time [we got it when we got our Ion console about a year ago] and found out that it wasn't working friendly with my mac laptop. I assume that because the console itself is windows based that the dongle must be exclusive to windows.

Is there a newer version or different version of the dongle that is mac friendly?? I'm just curious. GREAT WORK by the way!

I might be wrong on this but it is my understanding that it's not the dongle but the offline software. Meaning that EOS/ION offline for OSX will only do offline editing and cannot at this time go online and connect to EOS/ION.

My workaround is to boot my intel mac into windows and use the dongle to connect to the console.

I have heard that parallels or VMWare Fusion might work but I have not tried either of them.

That's correct - the OSX version is offline-only at the moment. You should be able to use Bootcamp or a virtualisation application to run the Windows client with a dongle, assuming you have XP Professional or better. There are some advise threads on this forum if you have problems.
