I have one more christmas show to do and have just lost one of my etc revolution rwm/sm original. Even if no one can help me before tomorrow, I would love to know your thoughts and would love some advice as the following has happend twice now.

I have two revs, both powered by the same 32amp independant and dmx together - going through the one with no intensity first then to the one that is working fine.

i finished a matinee and was going to check my scrolls to see if they needed calibrating when i noticed i had lost a lamp.

I changed the lamp, but didnt get anything through, i changed to another new one and still nothing.

I reset the independants - as sometimes this works - several times but still no intensity.

I still have control over everything else pan tilt scroller etc, just no intensity so the dmx is fine.

The LEDs are showing the lantern is ok as they are, full and static green, amber and red.

I took off the shutter, gobo and scroller modules and everything appeared to be fine on them and inside the lantern, from what I could see.

Someone mentioned changing the two fuses that are in the base of the lantern i.e where the power and dmx are, but i can not find an obvious access for them.

This has happened to a different rev a year and a half ago, so either its a fault in lantern again and its just coincedence or i am being totally silly and have missed something obvious and possibly doing something wrong for it to happen again.

It is rigged 8m up and i am currently working on it off of a ladder, if needs be it will have to come down tomorrow before the show for me to investigate depending on what advice i get as it is timeconsuming getting it down etc.

When we got a replacement for the last time it happened, the person who delt with it has no record of what the problem was.

Can anyone help me or give me any advice at all?

Many thanks folks,

Have a good christmas :-)

What is the cold start-up time for the HID PAR .

What is the hot re-strike time for the HID PAR.

Is it likely the HID PAR can cause the stage curtains to fade. The reason for this question is that we have had flourescent fixtures as work light in a couple of rooms on our campus and this seemed to have caused the curtains to fade. It may have been unrelated but seemed to be the culprit.

Also, do you have any better suggestions as to what kind of fixture I might use for this purpose.

Right now they are 12 regular PAR 64 par cans, a row of 5, a row of 4 then a row of 3 . My problems are many because there is no ceiling over my lower orchestra seating, everything is hung from the roof (aprox. 55') except for 4 that are hung from my 2nd catwalk. The only way to change the lamps is to rent an $800 per day pew lift. Needless to say I need something more efficient then 500w par cans. LEDs won't work because we can't afford to run data lines to each lamp, we would have to scaffold the whole area. (that is how everything was installed) and it is a High School building so my budget is not huge! I am looking at replacing with SF pars and increasing wattage from 500 to 750. I also want to try an maintain the asethic look of the hall when this is done. Does anyone have a better suggestion or idea? Our building is only 9 years old and I would love to get my hands on the electrical engineer or architect that left this mess for me! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

We use sometimes for longs periods the Revolutions but we've got others fixtures olders than this Revolutions and they never crack the reflector, only the rest of the projector.

we're adjusting our S4 Zooms, well at least we try.
Some are pretty fine, but on soom S4s it seems to be rather impossible.
In the middle of the spot, it is most time OK, but at the edge of the spot we got problems.
Sometimes there is a "shadow-ring", about 10 centimeters from the edge.
At other S4 we got "eyelashes" at the edge.

Any Idea how to get rid of them?!

Thanks

Likes:

The lamp replacement method is awesome.

The locking focus adjustment is great.

It's a Source Four! OMGBBQ!!11!

They are light and seem sturdy.

Dislikes:

I'm going to need a spare bag of the spring retaining clips immediately. Just opening them and closing them once has bent 3 of the clips, requiring rather a lot of fidgeting to get the gel frame door shut. Is this really the best method?

The gel frame door is no longer a one-handed operation, making us ladder-dwellers sad. Sadface.

I'll connector them up today and turn them on. More reports later!

Seems only logical to have a 19 degree version of the Source Four Jr. Next to a 19 degree Jr., I'd use the 15-30 degree zoom as well. I lamp all my fixtures with 575w long life HPL bulbs.

If anyone else is interested in ETC manufacturing either of these fixtures, drop Product Development a note or phone call.

On two of them we have Revolution. From day one it has been to much nocie from the fans so our symphony orchestra (I can tell they make alot of noice themsellfs...) wount use them. It´s not the scrollerfan (I know you can control it) that make the noice I think it´s the base fan that´s the worst. We have got fixture from diffrent years and they behave the same way. This suppose to be a silent fixture and consider to all i spoke to no one have had this problem. I can tell by my self that our fixture make more sound then fixture I´we meet through touring. How do I solve it? ( long story...)

Can we just buy additional 50, 36 or 26 degree lenses for these units and have them fit fine?

The download tech info for the Source 4 s and the price differences give the impression that the 70/90 degree units are somewhat different to the 19/26/36/50 units.
