Has anyone come up with a workaround for the Chauvet Color Palette? It can be controlled in up to 8 banks, but all 8 banks reference the same mode and strobe channels, so patching it as 8 different fixtures will not work.

For the Elation ELED Strip, I'd suggest using the 4, 8 or 16 channel modes, and patching it as 1, 2 or 4 of "Generic > LED-RGBW"

The "White" attribute is on Colour Wheel 2, all four colours have a Virtual Intensity ("Fade With Intensity")

As the Studio Due CS4 has four seperate Intensities and five Tilts, I couldn't come up with a way of arranging them that would be immediately obvious to users. It's probably best to build your own personality that matches how you will use the fixture.

It doesn't look like anyone has posted in this thread for quite some time, but I have a device that I would like added to the library - the Elation ELED Strip RGBW. I see that this device has 6 DMX modes: 4; 7; 8; 11; 16; and 19 channel modes. The SFML is new to me, but I have used the Congo Jr. quite a bit (the CJ is in our big auditorium and the SFML is in a new, smaller venue). I know how to create custom libraries in the CJ but not sure yet how to on the SFML. Any advice is appreciated!!

Thanks for that, next issue is that we have some Honeycomb 72 LED units, they are 6 channels RGBRGB ( effectively 2 x hearts ). I am looking through the fixture library to find some equivalent fixture type??

I can use them as just RGB & double the amount of devices but then I run out of devices on the desk.

Please upgrade to the latest version of SmartFade ML firmware (2.0.1).

The Extended mode was removed from version 2.0.0 as SmartFade ML doesn't support 16-bit Intensity or Gobo indexing, but it was added to 2.0.1 as it was requested.

Probably the best way to upgrade your SmartFade ML is to download the latest version of SmartSoft from here.

The SmartSoft installer includes the latest version of SmartFade ML firmware, plus the USB updater software, which is probably the easiest way to upgrade a SmartFade ML.

Make sure you save your show to SD card or using SmartSoft before upgrading, as the upgrade process does a full memory test which erases the console memory.

Hi Have just unpacked my SFML & there is no Mac 250 E extended mode 18bit?

There is a Mac 250Entour standard but no extended?

We loaded the original showfile to the console from Smart Soft. We had setup User Personality 01 to be the stage colors and patched it to the first eight devices. But when we transferred the showfile to the new console, that user personality, when patched as a new device, did not have any attributes.

The extra bizarre thing is that in Smartsoft, on the patch screen, when we place the mouse over the originally patched devices it shows that it is patched using User Personality 01 and as stated before, those 8 devices work just fine, in fact, better than they had before.

The first part I am not sure: How the intensity got to control the color?, although obviously it was rather welcome!

The 2nd part is normal: The patch, including the personalities used, is in the showfile. This is deliberate so that if we ever change a personality for any reason an old show will still work exactly the way it was programmed. If you were to import an old show and then re-patch the same decvices they would then use the personality current for that version of code.

This does not mean that we will change personalities often, on the contrary we try to avoid that unless truly necessary, but it does give an insurance that nothing changes on a show that was working as desired.

To expand on the previous post, something curiously odd happened to me the other day.

This same customer who uses the Stagecolors had to get a replacement SFML, the Device Select button LED was not working.

Anyway, the new console comes in, I take it out to them to get up and running, we load the show we had just saved from the old console to Smartsoft. Now, all of a sudden, the custom profile which we had created before swapping consoles has an intensity channel that will dim the colors down (the exact thing we were trying so hard to do before the new console came in.)

No on knows how that intensity channel got placed into the profile. In fact, when we try to patch another device with that profile, nothing patches. It's almost like the profile doesn't exist, except where it was patched previously.

So I told the customer to save that show and NEVER lose it because who knows how we would ever get it back.

Any thoughts on this bug/feature?

How about an Elation Stagecolor.

I know it's not a popular fixture, but the way it address red, green, and blue is blue-chan 1, red-chan 2, green-chan 3. Which means that a simple RGB profile cannot be used and maintain accurate color picking.

On a more general note, it would be nice to be able to build a user personality and assign an attribute to fade with intensity.

Anyone know of a workaround for this in the meantime?

Come to think of it, they may be listed as James Thomas Engineering fixtures.....

But since the latest library update has yet to be published (I know you are working on it Sarah) I can't tell for sure which ones are in there....

Yeah, that is part of the problem. Another one is that the Pixelranges have different modes (8 vs 16 bit for example) that it would be nice to have around.....
