I hope I'm not doing something dumb but I can't figure out how to use the encoders in Offline 1.8. The layout has changed from the previous versions and the buttons for selecting colour, focus, beam etc have all disappeared.
I assume you're trying to make the software look like the desk but how do I dial in pan and tilt values?
I have some Martin fixtures patched and the encoders are on the colour page. For the life of me I can't see how to get to any other NP information.

Hi Oovis,
ALT F7, ALT F8, ALT F9, ALT F10 will go through the encoder pages.
Notice the trackball on and off button for pan and tilt.

Aha! Thanks, that's got it.
Now I'm having another struggle. I have a MAC500 patched and can't get the iris to close. The iris encoder only steps through the modes (Iris 100 to 1%, Pulse Open, Pulse Close, Random Open and Random Close). How do I get it to actually close down to 50%? I can't see a Mode button there and can't see how to get the encoders into fine mode either.
I tried patching in a VL3000 to check operation of the iris encoder and that one does open and close as I expected, showing the channel value i.e "50% 100 to 1%"

It looks like the Mac 500 profile hasn't been written to include the Iris size as a percentage in the encoder display. To see a list of modes click on the area around the 'E' on the Iris encoder. To put the encoder in fine mode Double Click on the encoder on screen. This will give you control of the static iris size without the Martin built in Disco!

Obviously I don't have anything plugged in as it's the OLE I'm running but your solution for the iris doesn't seem to work. I changed the MAC500s for MAC700s and have the same result.
Looking at the fixture on a Table view on the other window shows the parameter popping around the 64000 mark and only going to 0% when the encoder window says "Iris 100 to 1%"
Is it just me?
Addendum;
I've just booted up my 1.7 version of the OLE on my laptop now I'm home, and although the encoder window doesn't work the same for the Martin fixtures as it did for the VL3000 it did dial in values from 0 to 209 on the table view window for the iris channel of a MAC500. It looks like something has got slightly shafted in 1.8.
I think you might want to try the recently added ML controls found in "displays," "virtual controls." This has much more intuitive offline control than the virtual encoders. This is how the Element folks control their moving lights, and we get to benefit from it.
Although, I did just notice that my MAC 700's that I have patched in also don't have the ability to control the iris in a linear fashion as well, so sorry for opening my mouth before verifying that!
OK, I figured it out, if you are in the ML virtual controls and click on "Iris::100 to 1%" it will op up a fader for linear iris control.
How annoying is that? Why doesn't the virtual fader appear when I click the mode button? Harrumph.
I look forward to the description of this feature in the next installment of the manual.
