I have been experimenting with the Element Offline (1.8) - I will be at the theatre later this week and will confirm with a real Element.
I have defined an OceanOptics Seachanger 4channel Xtra Green. This correctly shows the 4 colour channels (CMYxG). However, the green channel never changes from 0% when using either the colour wheel or the gelpicker. For example if I select a Lee 181 (Congo Blue) the the Element shows Green:0%, Magenta: 60.2%, Yellow: 0%, Cyan 75.3% . The Seachanger documentation (gelmatch.pdf) gives Green:100%, Magenta: 100%, Yellow: 34%, Cyan100%. Manually changing the value of the Xgreen channel does not change the position of the marker in the colour wheel for any colours.
Is this just a display problem, or is the library definition at fault?

Roger
Roger (first, very sorry about the delay in replying). This isn't actually the fixture definition. At the moment, the HS controls provided by the Color and Gel picker do not recognize "non-standard" color systems. These tools recognize CMY and RGB. You will find if you patch an RGBA fixture, the "A" parameter is also not deployed through the gel/color picker. If you have these types of systems and want to use the non-standard control, you need to work in native color space.
We have written special code for some devices (the Selador product line, for example) to use all of the non-standard parameters within the HS space. But that is done on a case by case basis.
This is something that we are planning to address.
Hope that helps.

Anne, thank you for the reply. No problem with the delay - I was only able to confirm the situation with a real Seachanger last night.
I do hope you can find some way to address devices with more than just RGB/CMY, although I can appreciate the problems of finding a generic solution to all of the combinations. Perhaps a "part-way" solution would be possible, with just the gel-picker enhanced to reflect the correct settings for the extra channels where they have been specified by the manufacturer (like the Seachanger .pdf file)?
In the meantime, I have found one way which makes it slightly easier to set some colours. I found that if you click on the text of the colour (Cyan, Magenta etc) in the ML control, then you can key a value into the command line. This is a lot easier than using the virtual scroll wheel when you know the actual value you want.
