So I'm running an Eos on a Net3 system. To begin the run, we had to take the first universe that contains the dimmers and assign the Interface type under PATCH to "default". Then we can bring up channels and have the dimmers correspond.

The problem we're having is with an Atmosphere when patched as a fixture, and when patched as multiple channels. We bring up the channels, but we won't have control until we bring up the address. Our work around has been to just park the addresses on and off, but we want submaster control of the hazer during the show. I know that the hazer works, because I can use a DMX tester on it, and it works by address on the Eos.

Any suggestions as to what's up?

Are you bring up the the level via Intensity or with the haze parameter.

The heat for MDG are via lamp controls but to make haze you need to use the parameter and not intensity.

Sorry if this isn't the problem.

Well no, it didn't work that way either, and we've tried it in channel as fixture mode and individual parameters in individual channels.

The MDG Atmosphere has two DMX attributes - "Sleep/Active" and "Haze"

You'll need to use the "Lamp Controls" to 'wake up' the fixture before use, similar to 'striking' a discharge moving light.

- Select the channel, [More_Softkeys] {Lamp_Controls}, {Fixture Wakeup}

There's also a {Fixture Shutdown} button there.

Keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Has this changed in 1.8? I patched an Atmosphere on both an Ion and also Ion Off-line and can only seem to control the haze intensity; there doesn't seem to be a lamp controls soft key option to wake up the machine? Is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks

Just wanted to give this a bump, has anyone else experienced this, it seems like this profile was working in earlier versions but is no longer working in 1.8 unless I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks

I've rechecked in 1.8 and I'm not seeing any change.
"Shutdown" outputs DMX 63, "Wakeup" gives 191.

Lamp Controls do need confirming before they execute, and they can't be recorded into a simple cue (but you can always have Macros executed by the cue).
Could that be the issue?

You can get to Lamp Controls with either the [About] hardkey or [More SK], then "Lamp Ctrls".

Keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Thanks, this thread:

seems to have the answer, I was looking for lamp controls under more softkeys and not about in 1.8.

Thanks

Sorry, in 1.8, on Eos and Element, {Lamp Ctrls} is a Softkey, on Ion it's only available under the [About] hardkey.

(I didn't have an Ion to hand yesterday. It does too much for such a small console!)

Keep on trying till you run out of cake.
