No, you weren't asleep!  The software formerly known as 1.5 is actually now released as 1.7.   [process issue due to the fact that Element (1.6) released first].

Attached please find a document describing what is new in 1.7.  The 1.7 manuals are also now posted.

Mac people!!  When you download the Mac offline software, in your applications folder, you will see two files.  One is the welcome screen and the other is the application itself.  If you open the app through the welcome screen, it will provide you the option of opening in Eos, Ion or Element mode.  If you open the app direct in the Eos family software, it always goes into Eos mode.  Opening through the welcome screen also gives you windows that can be minimized.  Opening directly into the app does not.   I usually drag the Welcome screen onto my dock, so I have the choice.  But that is up to you.

Additionally, the tiles to select connecting as a client are not currently functional.

Although not called out in the attached doc, this release also supports the iRFR app for all Eos Family products.  When you go to the iTunes store (there is a link to this from the iRFR product page, or you can just search for Electronic Theatre Controls on iTunes), you will see two iRFR options -  iRFR - LR and iRFR - BTS.  All proceeds from the first will be sent to Light Relief and all proceeds from the second to Behind the Scenes.  Pick the charity of your choice!!

For streamlined information about creating a closed wireless network and configuring your iPhone or iPod Touch, try our Wiki.  Steve Traut has written an excellent description.

We strongly urge all Eos, Ion and Element users to upgrade to 1.7 at their earliest opportunity.  Remember, all devices on the network must be running the same version of Code.  The Eos Family Console software is for installation on desks, RPUs and RVIs.  The offline software is used for PC clients and offline.

Thanks so much.

Happy programming!

(Lane.... please let the clown out - we've all been quite concerned about him.)

Wow! I just tried the offline editor and it's awesome. I love the ML virtual control. I can't wait to install it on our console.

Oh noooooooo!  I'm in the middle of tech and I can't update.  Curses.  I would kill for the trackball feature right now.  If you had released it a week ago......  sigh.

Sorry for the negative, Anne... on the positive side... THANK YOU everyone for making this happen! Just in the 5 minutes I played with the offline, I love it! The Virtual ML stuff is very cool. I figured you guys would do that since Element is pretty much driven by that.

Even though I dont have an iphone, it is just yet another reason for me to get one. Tough sell for my wife who is a die hard Verizon person, but oh well!

THANKS!!

You guys have been patient, and we really appreciate that!  (BTW, the link has been fixed).   I got an iPhone just after they released.  I tend to be disappointed in most tech products once the initial discovery is over.  I can honestly say that product changed my life.  Worth it ---- and dealing with AT+T.  :-)

Just downloaded the offline software for mac and am LOVING the ML control page.  Such a nice touch.  However, is there a reason that this particular tab isn't labeled?

WOW!  No wonder it took so long.  I just read through the attached doc, and Nice work!

Looking forward to playing with it when I can load it into a console next week!

We have enough youth. How about a fountain of "Smart"?

Thank You!

Thank You!

Thank You!

I love it so much.

One quick observation.... I noticed somewhere you said that including the element ML controls was kinda last minute.... I was wondering if at some point on ION ewhen you hit displays if ML Controls could be a softkey.

A very small thing....

Thanks Again for making a wonderful product this much better!

Perfect!  I've been in our Express Console venue all day (with no internet)  which means:  1) Its like a surprise Christmas Eve for me.  Can't wait to take the OLE for a spin tomorrow!  and 2)  I don't have to be the first to find some nit picky negative thing to chime in about.

Thanks for all y'alls' hard work.  I think we all know that you guys stay pretty busy all the time.

Now can I just get a copy of 1.5 for continuity's sake? [insert smiley emoticon here]

Anyway we can get the whole release packaged so that it is only one big download for software, offline, manuals, shortcut keys, etc. Otherwire it is about 5 downloads to update to 1.7.

Also, is the ION Shortcut Sheet still relevant to 1.7?
