In the show I just did I had a prologue that had a character entering and being hit by a round of lighting from a step based effect of moving lights flashing and then needing moving the lights so that they can do it again but on another location on stage. What I ended up having to do was to record the cue first with a intensity value if 01 and then add the FX and update the cue. If I did not do this the light would auto mark to the next time they were used.

Is Auto Mark completely unaware of FX intensities?

Or am I missing something (very likely happens daily)

Thanks for helping me understand.

Randall, at the moment, effects without a channel background value are not calculated into the auto-mark logic.  Effects lay on top of the basic cue structure. Your work around is the best choice for now.  We've placed on the list to deal with in a future build.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Now I know.

As they used to say on the GI Joe cartoon "knowing is half the battle".
