My first thought is ANY ETC console !

As to which particular ?, Element when it comes out this summer, until then the Ion with sub wings (but I'd hold out for an Element).

Price wise, the Smartfade series, but I'd still wait for an Element

I have found the LP-X 48 to be one of the most frustrating consoles to program, that said the Ion or Congo/Congo Jr. would easily blow the LP-X out of the water.  I haven't worked with the SmartFade ML, but given the problems that I have experienced with how the LP-X works with palettes, I would give it a try.

Take care,

John

I had a quick look for the datasheets, the LP-X48 apparently supports 192 dimmer channels plus 48 moving lights, 12 physical submasters (with pages) and 24 channel faders (with 2 pages), three encoders and has two universes of output and a single monitor output, plus all its software features.

Based on that, an Ion or a Congo Jr with a wing has more master playbacks, more desk channels, more encoders and an extra monitor output.

The list prices appear to be very similar, so...

Keep on trying till you run out of cake.
