Would it be possible to get the information from the fixture release notes (specifically the User Notes field) available on the console when patching? This would be a great help in making sure that the fixture is set up properly and perhaps help to mitigate some of the "this personality doesn't work" issues.
I know that the information is available on a PC when the offline program is installed, but it's a pain to have to drag the laptop out and try to find the information on the spot.

We will include library update info in the release note. We included this in 1.4.5 and continue doing so in the future. We are also planning to add an indication in the "fixtures" tab of patch when there is new library data for a patched fixture. Will that work?

Your plans sound good. I like having the fixture update info in the release notes- that makes it easier to find. My main question was if there could be a display or window on the console itself when you patch a fixture that lists the specific settings on the fixture that the personality requires.
Hypothetical example: when you patch a Mac_700_Profile_Ext fixture, the console would tell you:
