Hi... new guy here
Can someone point me in the right direction?
I have an ION on demo and I am having 'challenges' getting the board to speak to our VL's and Scrollers.
They receive their control information via Net2
We currently are using an Insight 3 with DMX 1 to the dimmers and ETCNet2 to the 'smart' lights
Direction to links and help files will be appreciated
Thanks
Can you tell us anything more about your system? I don't know that there is enough here to diagnose your troubles. Of course - you can always call tech support at 800-688-4116 and speak to a real live human (mostly) who will be able to help you out.
More info would help. How is your ETCnet setup? Are you using net2 nodes? My theater is all ETCnet with net2 nodes and my scrollers work fine. One thing I have noticed is that if I plug the ethernet cable into the board after I have turned the board on, I have to exit the Ion or reboot to get it to talk to my scrollers.

hello and thanks for the responses....
Our current lighting system =
1. ETC Insight (w/o Emphasis)
2. DMX 1 out goes directly to our dimmers
3. The twisted pair out goes to a ethernet switcher. From this point various ethernet ports are distributed throughout the theatre
4. At the desired ethernet port we use an ETC Node to restore back to DMX
5. From the Node we then send signal to the Varilites or Scrollers
We have signal to the dimmers, not DMX signal to the smart lights
I think that you should call ETC tech suport, that is my first bit of advice.
But as a shot in the troubleshooting dark . . .
My guess it that you have an IP address conflict of other issue somewhere.
If you have an insight console without emphasis and are connected directly from console to network, you're using ETCNet1 not ETCNet2.
Can you describe the node you have spitting out DMX to the fixtures? Does it have any writing on it?
If it is an ETCNet2 DMX node running in Net1 mode, give us a call and we can talk about how to get it into Net2 mode.
If it is an orignal ETCNet Remote Interface, then it is only capable of Net1 and can't see the data coming from the Ion.
