Hello.

Apologies if this has been asked before, I can't see it in a search.

I have patched some VL2416 spots to channels 201 and 203 thru 209. If I access each unit individually or 201 + 203 thru 209 I can use the virtual encoders to dial in colours, but if I type 201 thru 209 it doesn't seem to work.

Bug or feature?

Oovis,

I think if you look at the values in the live table display for those parameters you will see that they have changed. You are probably not seeing any values in the encoder display because you have more than one type of fixture selected, so the values would not necessarily tally.

Make sense? I look forward to a whole heap of questions when I see you in a couple of days!

Hi Graham,

No, one type of fixture but nothing patched as 202 so the values should be exactly the same for the rest.

I'm sure the questions will flow ;-)

While 202 is not patched, does the channel exist in Patch and on your live screen? In other words.. does 202 have a tombstone around it or is it just a grey number (see picture below)? If it does exist in patch, I would think this is your problem because even though the channel isn't patched, the console is trying to apply whatever you are doing to that channel. I've been getting into the habit of deleting any channels that I don't use in Patch so that I can use "thru" without grabbing and adding values to channels that don't exist for my show.

Hope this helps. A couple photos below to hopefully show what I'm not able to tell.

Before I began I deleted 1 thru 5000 so there should be nothing there for 202.

It doesn't have a tombstone and looks exactly like your screen-grabs. Setting the screen to patched channels makes 202 disappear so the desk seems to think there's nothing existing but the encoder operation falls over.

Darn, and here I was thinking I was being sneaky. Sorry I wasn't any help.
