We have a Express 24/48 with 48 channels this seems to the maximum channels we can put on it though is there a way to make it have more channels. I have been told there's some hardware or something we have that can do it. I know the way to add them in the setup and stuff however I try to go to say 50 and it will just stay at 48.

Thanks.

The Express 24/48 will drive 96 channels controlling 1024 DMX devices (dimmers).  Channels 1-48 are on the channel faders and 49-96 are accessible only via the keypad.  See the User Manual for more information. http://www.etcconnect.com/docs/docs_downloads/manuals/Express_Two-scene_Preset_v3.1_User_Manual.pdf, page 23.

Hi there -

It's possible that your console has been set to show only 48 channels in the [Setup]. Press the Setup key, then press [1] [ENTER]. Look at the second item in the list - Number of Channels. If this says "48", type [2] [ENTER] [9][6] [ENTER] to set the number of channels to 96.

You can actually set the number of channels to anywhere betweek 1 and 96, just know that if you do that with stuff patched, you may lose the patch on those channels you eliminate, so be careful when you type.

I hope this helps!

Thanks -

What version of software are you running on the Express? If you hit the Setup key, you'll see the version number in the lower right hand corner of the screen. If you're running a version earlier than 3.1, that could be your problem.

John,

There is no cost for you to install a software update to your Express console.  I've posted the details of the upgrade in one of your other threads.  http://www.etcconnect.com/Community/forums/p/3551/13698.aspx#13698
