Just wanted to say I took out the board on a show using Smartsoft last night, I had no problems whatsoever, it made the patching and some other task even more easier to use, giving the SmartFade console even another dimension for shows. Thanks for the release ETC and keep making great products.

I'm reading the manuals, and trying the Smartsoft and so far it seems like all the things I expected to be added, are there... for instance a better display read out for the stack, a quicker way to use stack, level control for the independents, a better view on the patch, labels for mems... Thank you ETC. This Smartsoft adds a lot of functionality to those great consoles.
A sort of effect creator for the Smartfade 2496 should be nice, too ;)
If something goes wrong, is the 1.7.1 src file available from the site? Or is there a possibility to back up the console system to a SD card?

Yes, the 1.7.1 firmware can be downloaded from the ETC website.
You can use the USB downloader provided with SmartSoft, or put the firmware onto an SD card and re-install 1.7.1 that way.
