1.4.1 and turning on direct select displays

I have just updated the software today in two spaces, unfortunately it was toward the end of the day so I haven't had a chance to look deeper into this yet.  My coworker in the Music Theater noted that when trying to set the direct selects on the display that CTRL+1 would not turn on a direct select display, but instead would act as a hot key and put "Snapshot" on the command line.  I noted that at my board in the Concert Hall that not only did this happen but also that keyboard attached to the board (backup) was not only affecting the board but also the RPU (primary) as well.  As this was the end of  the day I have not had a chance to look farther into  this yet.  Any Suggestions?

    Gregg,

You might want to download the new hotkeys guide for Eos/Ion. Ctrl 1-6 as well as Alt 1-3 changed in the release of 1.4--There are a few other changes to the hotkeys in v1.4. Remember if you are trying to display the direct selects onto the screens you can always use the browser. Displays-->Browser-->Virtual Controls-->5x10 Direct Select Module.  You can do the same for the onscreen faders as well.

As for the other question--Check your User ID number. It could have been reset once you loaded the new version of software.  Remember that if you have both devices with the same User ID then they will share command lines and live/blind states. To change this you can go into Setup-->Desk Settings-->Displays within the console itself or go through the shell and change it in Settings.

    Hope that helps.

    Josh,

I will try that when I get in today.  However, my next question is since the current manual still describes the keyboard method for setting the direct selects/virtual faders, is there a way to toggle the behavior of the keyboard between setting the displays and hot keys

It used to be that the only way to get the virtual direct selects was to use keyboard shortcuts. Now there there is a nicer interface to post/unpost these controls (and others), these keyboard shortcuts have been updated to be snapshots, which didn't exist originally.

I'm fairly sure that virtual controls should save as part of a given snapshot, so that may be the easiest method if you do want to use the keyboard. Otherwise, the Browser-Virtual Controls is the way forward.

    Josh,

I cannot seem to find the download on the ETC website.  It is not included in the release notes either.  Can you post the link for the download?
