We will be performing in a very large room that contains a Unison Dimming System rack. Basically, for this performance, we will not need much in the way of lighting, but the rack is emitting a noise (f#) to be precise. It is very audible and there is no door between the rack and the stage. The ceiling height on the stage is so high, an acoustical baffle or curtain is not feasible. Has anyone else ever experienced a noise (we believe the rack is resonating - the fans are on) like this and is there a solution?
If we turn off the circuits to every dimmer but one, will the fans shut off? Do we need to be connected to any computer or use software to temporarily turn off the dimmers using switches on the panels? We don't know if the fans run full time, but they were on for an hour while we observed the problem.
We would appreciate your help on this. I can take comments by email at lharlow@pcmusicfestival.com.
